About the IHSS Healthcare Academy

Invictus High School's Healthcare Academy was established for students with an interest in health professions.

Healthcare is a competitive field with a variety of opportunities. Completion of a high school diploma through the IHS Healthcare Academy prepares our students to enter the professional healthcare workforce with a competitive edge directly out of high school.

We partner with educational providers whose experience and expertise with the subject matter, professionalism, and current industry standards provide students the opportunity to develop and master skills required to test and earn their credentials. Students within this academy may graduate with phlebotomist licensure, a state-tested nursing assistant (STNA) license, or one of many other advanced healthcare industry recognized credentials.

What Can I Do With My Diploma and Certifications?

The healthcare profession is a strong career choice for students who want to work in a stable and growing field with substantial earning potential.

Industry credentials earned through the Invictus High School Healthcare Academy can prepare students with the knowledge, skills, certificates, and abilities required to enter and thrive in various positions in the field, among them:

  • Phlebotomist

  • State-Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

  • Nurse Aide

  • Home Health Aid

  • Patient Care Assistant

  • Geriatric Aide

  • Caregiver

  • Resident Assistant

How Do I Become an IHSS Healthcare Academy Student?

Current Invictus High School students may be eligible to enter the IHS Healthcare Academy. Our faculty and staff reviews student's availability, attendance records, and credits earned to make recommendations into the program. IHS Healthcare Academy does have a prerequisite course that must be completed prior to beginning certification and credential courses.

Although students may indicate interest in the healthcare profession in their intake survey upon admission to the school, students interested in the Healthcare Academy can notify their homeroom teacher, administration, or the post-secondary specialist on their campus of their interest at any time.
